MAP sensor prob. . . still

i just had my SES light checked. the code that came up was for the sensor, but its already been replaced. someone told me before that if that code comes up the problem could be something connected to the sensor. what are some things to check or look for? also how would i be able to test any of this? any help greatly appreciated. thanx

Are you getting code 33 or 34? Did you clear the codes after doing the repairs by disconnecting the battery?

whats the difference in the codes 33 and 34? yeah, i disconnected the neg batter cable and was off for at least a good hour while my car sat so i know it must have been reset.

33 MAP sensor circuit, out of range high
34 MAP sensor circuit, out of range low

make sure the electrical connection is secure and the vacuum line is intact.

had a guy at the parts store test it for me so im not sure what number came up. i think it said 32. how can i tell if electrical connection secure and if it aint how do i fix it? for the vacuum line just trace it to the opposite end from the one thats connected to the sensor and if there are any leaks what so ever just replace it? oh and if any thing connected the sensor is and its not workin properly it doesnt matter if the part is brand new it aint gonna work correctly either way, right? how can i tell if it is working properly?

the hose that is connect to the map sensor, if i were to buy one to replace it, what would i be looking for? like whats it called? a vacuum hose?

just pull up to the parts store, take the line off walk inside and show it to the counter guy, they sell the lines by the foot, but they will need to see it to get the inside diameter, buy it, plug in the new line and be on your way, even if it doesn't fix the problem, it was 11+ years old and cost maybe 2 dollars.

is it that easy to disconnect?

i don't think it has a clamp on it, just pull it off, on some older stuborn hoses i use a little hook pick to brake it loose

i just bought the hose today and replaced it. this hose i put on was about twice as big as the one i took off. would this cause any problems?

wall thickness shouldn't matter, be sure ID is the same as well as length
