So I am going to drive it until it can't start ( Maybe it will never happen? :-).
You could always just replace the starter then . I did mine at 140,000 miles on my '94.

99 with 185000 on it - original owner. Great car, no complaints. Have it as a second car for my kids when they get their licenses (next year). Hasn't let me down!

From the fleet I maintain:
'03 Corolla LE with a little over 400,000mi.(original engine/auto trans)
'99 Corolla LE with 330,000mi. (original engine/5 speed)
'00 Corolla CE with 280,000mi. (original engine/5 speed)
We have several others that range between 180,000mi. to 250,000mi. on the original engine and trans.
We did have some Corollas that required engine changes. One blew a rod at 300,000 miles and two other Corollas started smoking heavily at the 200,000 mark. We had one Corolla engine fail at 110,000 miles. All of the failed engines had the dreaded oil consumption problem.
We also have one Toyota Sienna with 250,000 miles on it along with a '99 Camry 4cyl. with 230,000 miles on it.
We also have some Suzuki vehicles with over 300,000 miles on them.

1996 corolla with 64600 miles on it, beat that. with a three speed.
Say what? BEAT THAT? Hmmm . . . Kind'a Sort'a puzzled here Bro'. If my figures are correct, it's 14 years old and 64600 divided by 14 is 4,614 miles a year. Average miles put on a vehicle in the US is about 15,000 so at 4,614 you're way, way below average and 'prolly only drive it on Sundays. Did you make a type-o and mean 646,000 in lieu of 64,600 ? If so, then yeah, you rode that 'rolla big time.

I drive a Camry, not a Corolla, but mine is an '02 2.4L engine and it has 119,337 miles. I change the oil every 3,000 miles (sometimes I'll go a few hundred miles over). I know this kind of mileage is NOTHING for a Toyota. I hope to get to one million someday...

Either that or he's trying NOT to put miles on it...
Glad to see I'm not the only one who takes pride in high mileage (even though my car doesn't have any mileage worth boasting about)... :D
