I must have been mistaken. I've understood that the pictures of Herb's car had been taken at an auction. Otherwise, why to recall his car.

It is available for private events only unfortunately. Besides the F1 there are some true automotive icons in Collier's collection. He purchased all or most of the Briggs Cunningham collection many years ago and moved the cars from California to Florida.

No - that is #029 and it is actually in Japan. The broker listing that ad is from the USA. I have it on good authority the car is still in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Yes, good find. Is it #055 or #074 ? If the year is correct it would be #055, sure ?

Driver's seat appears to be black here ruling out chassis #074 and making it #055.

Not sure who the lucky driver was, but that's clearly not RL. Might be the same guy who was driving LM3 in John Lamm's photos from his book "Supercar Revolution".

Its probably his mechanic. Most of the large collections have dedicated mechanics to work on and drive the cars. It sure would be cool to talk to him about the cars tho

Arjan, I remember posted #028 at Sonoma historic but do we notice #042 was there too ?

I recieved two pics and I thought it was the same car but happily interior is different !
#028 was seen on wednesday and #042 on friday.

#065 and #066 seem to remain hidden within a private collection. I'm now certain they are both there though.

#036 comes and goes from Houston and is probably the only one you'd have a chance of seeing given that the owner actually drives the car.

#072 is reportedly coming to Houston when its refit is completed at the factory. I'm not sure what the timing would be on that. My new friends at the factory are friendly people, but still careful not to tell me anything I don't already know. ;)

#013 is down in Dallas now. I suspect its owner will be driving it but haven't seen any evidence of that yet.

McLaren San Francisco had an owner's gathering at the dealership this past weekend to celebrate the delivery of their first 12C. It included a visit by Antony Sheriff from the UK who is the Managing Director of McLaren Automotive and Tony Joseph who heads up their US operations in New York.

During the event several more 12Cs "happened to arrive via transporter" for a few more of their customers. ;)

Also in attendance was one silver McLaren F1 (#062) in addition to the red F1 (#028) that is being kept on the showroom floor. All told I think there were 10 McLarens in one spot that day which must have been quite a sight to see. Since most of us weren't there, we'll have to enjoy this gallery on Photobucket instead. Jay Leno chose to drive his F1 on New Year's Day. :cool:

Here it is not far from my house at the top of one of the greatest roads in SoCal. Sadly I missed it and so did a couple of friends who are usually hanging out there. :(
