Don't think that was ever confirmed. We also have #15R missing in action - I think those were the two possibilities.

Don't forget 04R Mclaren/West Adreniline programme, was last seen at Mclaren Cars

No knowledge of #15R's whereabouts here - LOJ is a possibility, but... :dunno:

Here's a thread that finally clarifies that the WEST Adrenaline car (first rumored to be #09R, then #04R) was actually GTR #08R. We have Le Man to thank for finally solving the mystery. :thumbsup:

No real answer, but this was also the F1 that Clarkson drove. I'm sure everyone here has seen the video where he compares the F1's acceleration to that of a Nissan Skyline GTR. I'm not certain if it was in an episode of Top Gear, or just one of those videos he puts out.

It was in the Supercar Shootout where clarkson tested all the 200mph+ cars. I have the article if anyone wants it. There was a video that went with it too but i've never managed to get my hands on it

Can anyone tell what the logo is at the bottom of the plate? Is it me or does it look like the Quantas Airways symbol?

I wonder if that car could be #003 prior to it's migration to Japan? :dunno:

Possible. I think its more likely that its 011 but of course, without more pics, its hard to say. Is there an interior shot on that video?

Both the longtail and shorttail FINA GTRs that have appeared at Goodwood in the past belong to the BMW Mobile Tradition Museum in Munich, Germany.

Because of the car it was with (also owned by Ojjeh) and certain features of the car (Erik will know more, i think he made the original deduction).

Educated guess and a tie in on this old photo which I am sure you will recall. Note the silver "F1" logo on the wing endplate:

A road car owner had his in to get the "LM" high down force package installed; rear wing, new front clip with splitter and wider rear tires. His brother also owns one, and as they drive together often, McLaren made them a hands free car-to-car communication system (mil. spec. Scrambled so NO ONE can overhear them) so they can chat while driving against each other. They are the only ones who will ever get that system.

I have heard/read reports that the brothers that owned these two cars were Venezuelan and therefore would not be the Ojjeh brothers (Mansour's nationality is listed as "France/Saudi Arabia"). In fact, one such quote is here:

The F1 pictured here was first delivered in 1998 to one of two brothers from Venezuela who both owned McLaren F1s (the other was S/N 011) and kept their cars at the factory in England. S/N 073 features the 691“hp LM-spec engine and performance package.

It's my understanding now that the same two brothers owned #011 & #073 from the start, up until the point they were auctioned by Christies. I don't believe either of those brothers had the last name of Ojjeh anymore.

some persons told me about Ojjeh and especially the repaint with a coulour of a watch. The blue one was listed in a shop in Päris and I am told Ojjeh.
Otherwise, the owner spoke a perfect French at Geneva.

No doubt in my mind.

Cool - I'm just speculating based on the info provided. The Ojjeh brothers are certainly not from Venezuela, that much I know, and that article is not the only source I have had which seems to suggest the Ojjeh brothers did not own those cars.

If you can do more research on this and come up with more concrete info that would be wonderful. Also, a photo of the driver of #073 when it was spotted in France would also be helpful to some I am sure.

I've never seen a dark green car with the High Downforce Kit fitted. If I had to guess though, I would say the car would most likely have been #073, originally painted AMG Green Velvet.

The Christies auction info on #073 claimed that testing was performed on the car at Bruntingthorpe in May 2000, so that could certainly have co-incided with the refit being completed then. Quoting from the auction description on that car:

After the car was purchased, McLaren offered to undertake this extraordinary project in their workshops in Woking, England. It began with the fitment of their GTR-inspired 'High Downforce Package' which dramatically improved high speed road holding and stability. Later additional improvement was requested to increase the aerodynamic capability of the car in an effective but visually subtle manner thus it was decided to add louvres to the tops of the front wings and balance the rear end of the car with a 4mm %IGurney flap%i. Documented testing at Bruntingthorpe proving ground in May 2000 evaluated these additions and the conclusion was the following; '…The additional downforce enhances the existing levels of grip and stability and provides a great feeling of confidence and security, particularly at high speed.' In addition to this, McLaren installed larger radiators and a sports exhaust system (the original system also accompanies the car) along with a set of forged multi-spoke wheels (exclusive to this car) brandishing suitably colossal Michelin tyres all round. To complete this marvel the LM engine was installed; producing an astonishing 691bhp at 7500rpm and 735 NM of torque (dyno test sheet can be provided upon request) it makes a significant performance improvement. It is important to acknowledge the significance of this upgrade as there is only one other McLaren F1 roadcar with the LM engine fitted.

An additional fax sent from McLaren in August 2000 complimented this astonishing car even further; McLaren's most experienced test driver commented that this car was 'the ultimate F1 variant, having the best combination of performance, stability, grip and handling, whilst still being practical for road use'.

It sounds like the High Downforce Kit was fitted first, before any of the other more radical changes took place on this car. If that's the case, then I suspect that this was your green car.

The only other possibility I can think of would be Paul Stewart's #023 as it was originally finished in British Racing Green. It now wears a partial High Downforce Kit, but has been painted silver. It's tough to say if both of those changes would have taken place at the same time, but one would expect they would have so maybe #023 is not an option.

Chris, The other green car in the pic Erik posted, is a stock road car. Check the wheels, wheel arch flares and no front splitter.

Interesting the car has not been scrapped, as no destruction certificate has been issued. Also, has not been taxed since feb 2000!!

You are correct. Just checked two cars that I have previously scrapped. Guess what, they are still listed on the DVLA web site (these cars were scrapped years ago) So much for UK goverment department efficiency!!

At least we can determine when the car was last taxed.

Do not read to much into the DVLA info, it is only correct up to the 01 02 2004 and has not been updated since. If the info was up to date, it will show an export marker on it. Type in K6 MCL (XP4) and K4 MCL (003) it shows they have been exported.

After checking, i too have it as #040 as per Eriks post, and mini magic, after checking my #040 subfolder, i have that F1 MAC pic in there so i checked in my #011 subfolder and saw the carbon hdf kitted #011 (the one with the red stripe down its flanks like Leno has on #015)

011 was on the BMW stand at the 94 British motor show (NEC). I have some great footage from the Top Gear program.

Amazing when you see an F1 up close (94 show) then some years later see the same car completely different spec (Christies auction) not realising that it was the same one!!:screwy:

^Thanks for the article! On April 15th, 1998, the exchange rate was $1.6830 per Pound. $908,820 for #011, $841,500 for 06R. 430,000 GBP is $723,690 for 16R, wow. :( I wish I had money back then for 16R, one of my favorites.
