ok ... well my best friend is totally lost on this question... he track road races his crx ... and he has been through 5 alternators in the past couple months. The alternator overheats and tries to charge itself and blows up. He runs his car at around 7500rpm all day long at the track. He needs a solution to his alternator. He cannot sacrifice any weight to fix this problem though. He is running a lawnmower battery in it right now, so running just off the battery on the track will NOT work. If anybody knows how to run the alternator at that high of rpm's for a while, without blowing them up... please let me know. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
