Looks cool, not exactly my choice of color but hey that's what individual style is for. I just started my interior (painting it blue and black), unfortunately the carpeting is gray, hope it goes well together so I don't have to change it out too. Just need to get a warm day to put the clear coat on.

i just did...(last night i was leaving my girlfriends house and i noticed the light was still on (i hooked the power supply for the tach up to a fuse that was continiously running...my bad lol)) so i hit the wires (took them under the dash vent) and rewired it so the light comes on with my headlights...hehe

the total cost (keep in mind that i got a custom color laquier or however u spell it) $$36.99 for a quart of paint, $$11 for the primer cans $$22 for all the sand paper (most of which i didnt even use) $$7 for the vinal black spraypaint, $$20 for the Any Color Spray Can (some weird thing where you can add any color paint to the glass jar, then screw it on 2 a spray can) and acts just like a spray can. also add 10 bucks for some stuff like rubbing alcohol and dish soap n stuff. i dont feel like adding that stuff together but i think i guessed the price at like 100 bucks or so...plus 2 FULL days of work

to be totally honest, it looks very ricey. It just screams im a poor kid who couldnt afford a nice fast looking car, so ill cover mine in bright colors to make it look faster. Not to mention you will prolly never be able to sell the car like that.
but if you like it, thats all that matters really.

the little money i could of gotten for my car i am not worried about, and with the performace ive added to my car it still wouldnt sell for that much (aftermarket parts take the value of a car down but im sure you knew that) plus if i was going to sell the car i would get the car painted orange that way the interior matched the exterior...:)

As it stands, I'm sitting at $50 in paint but I need to find something decent to paint the vinyl, something that won't peel off.
Right now my car is 3 quarters gutted, just need to pull the dash early tomorrow morning, and the rear panels, have to find the right tool to remove the seat belt bolts.

You can use any paint, but they do make vinyl/plastic/fabric paint. Obviously you can get spray paint anywhere, I got my vinyl/fabric paint at Autozone, any car part/car maintanence store should have it, I think it's made by Duplicolor. Just make sure you sand enough, prime enough with the proper amount of coats depending on how well you want it to come out, and paint enough with the proper amound of coats, as for a clear coat, i'd use engine paint clear coat to withstand heat from the sun.

did you have to disingage the passanger airbag to get the piece above it off? because i dont want to take it off if it is going to blow up me brathas...
my99cavy
07-20-2006, 05:18 PM
no the piece that has the airbag underneath it doesnt come off untill you take the entire dash off. once you get the dash off the you can take that cover off by unbolting 8 screws i think it is. no it will not blow in your face lol and there is no disingaging anything.

could always remove the airbag fuse and disconnect the Negative battery terminal if you're that worried.

could always remove the airbag fuse and disconnect the Negative battery terminal if you're that worried.yeah you could but just going to create more work for yourself. he'll be fine as long as he dont go poking and messing around with the airbag once its off
