Hi

My 2000 Impala reached 60000 miles. Do I need to replace the timing belt?

What other maintenance do I need to do?

I got the fuel filter replaced, transmission fluid replaced.

1st. neither the 3.8 or 3400 have a timing belt...this is a chain and should not need service for 150K and then inspection only most likely depending on heaviness of use ie: towing, mountains, tire rippin starts etc. I would inspect the brakes front and rear very closely.. should be due. Air filter and throttle body cleaning, check PVC valve that it rattles freely. also may want to do a trans filter change, I don't like the trans flushing that has become the big push lately. With the high detergent ingredients of trans fluid replacing the five or so Qts is sufficient. Flushing can cause filings and minut particles into the valve areas causing them to stick or malfunction. This my opinion based on conversations with many trans pros. Might also just check the filler neck of radiator to see that fluid is clean and no brown sludge built up, if there is, it is time for a flush of the cooling system. If there is no engine miss, leave the plugs alone for now, 100K is recommened on those, and the wires can come apart when pulling the boots. Just 1 or 2 will cost you an entire set at 60 bucks and plugs are 30.
