yes i suppose that it would and seeing as im right you would probably edge me out as mustangs are notorius for their low end torque giving u the advantage off the line it would be a good race

yeah your 300 ft. lb. of tq is alot better than my 190 ft.lb. heh heh ..... the camaro has enough that the first time i launched hard i twisted the front a little enough to make the hood close off center

I do believe the last year for the lt1 in anything was 1997, in 1998 they used the ls1 in the camaros/TAs and corvettes, and the ls6 in the z06. as for ls1 being obsolete, even though they are not making f-bodies, it is still used in the corvette, and soon to be in the new gto. as for the 4.6l, they are grossly underpowered in stock form. hell, I've seen them put around 160 to the wheels here in alb. a good comparison would be a completely stock prelude putting 125, and modded ones putting a bit more. hell, a sohc 4.6l in a saleen did 260hp with "installed 42lb injectors and a lightning mass air folw sensor, the kit is a ATI with a 2 row intercooler and a chip" i know he has some bolt ons too. to give a comparison, some of the ls1's are dynoing around 240ish stock on the same dyno. on a similar note though, a dohc 4.6l in a '01 cobra got about 350hp on a ati kit with fmic and a few others, but less than the saleen. i still laugh at that though, 160hp to the wheels stock, hell, i think an s2000 did 165 stock, and with the sc 235hp. so in most terms, you could say a 4.6l sohc fors is about on par with a 2.0l honda hehehe

If your talking about the 4.6 in 96-98 mustang GT, then at 5500 ft above sea level it is conceivable that a particular car only produced 160 hp at wheels. I mean come on, they are only rated at 215 at flywheel. The 99 and newer GT has 260 hp at flywheel. A recent dyno test in a magazine on a 2001 GT produced 230 hp and 272 tq at the rear wheels. Not bad for a bone stock car with only 780 miles on it. But, the GTs made from 96-98 are dogs. The new v6 mustangs (99-02) will run door to door with a stock one.

i thought the 96-98 were rated at either 225 or 240?, either way, none of them are very fast, and the saleen was the 99+ body style n/a saleen. the average corretcion for this altitude is about 21%, so that is still only 190hp here, and still kinda sad, especially when considering a 1995 gs-r on a stock block with a turbo and some mods got 238hp.

LT1's and LS1's have single cam engines as well...LT1 stock it about 230 rwhp, ls1 about 300rwhp...

All right lets clear some stuff up. 1994-95 mustang GT=5.0 liter v8 rated at 215hp at flywheel. 1996-1998 mustang GT= 4.6 sohc rated at 215hp. 1999-2002 GT= 4.6 sohc rated at 260 hp. 1994-1995 cobra= 5.0l liter v8 rated at 240 hp. 1996-1998 cobra= 4.6 DOHC rated at 305 hp. 1999-01 cobra= 4.6 DOHC rated at 320 hp. 2003 cobra=4.6 DOHC supercharged rated at 390 hp.

i do believe ford had a recall on the '99 cobra due to it not making the claimed hp. i believe the recall included a different intake and exhaust.

Welll where toegin.. first since the 85 Grand national.. Gm has owned ford.. in diferent cars
check the recod books.. the Gt and cocra were never a matcch..
in the end 01-02 Ls1 recivels6 ecu. ls6intake and exhaust anifolds, a 6.l lter stick borrowed fromtheir truckline
and tested with a bunch oh smoes Gm highperformance Pontic maggave a farewel article toa 3680 lb fully loaded Ws6 02 ( which is idendicldown to the tole4rances).. they hd 3 of them in auto.. wieging fully loaded .. cause lets face fatsthe Ws6 is practicaly the eanest bad a** on the road..
they peformed 7 1/4 runs for each car.. none went over 13.1.4 and one whent 13 flat.. so s/c cobra turning high 12's.. i could put in a cut out and alid and remove airilencers..and boom they are inthe high 12..
just for fun my Ws6 dyno'd at 320.1 hp thats real closeto 380 flywhell.. which the Cobra r was defeated as a stripper , no air o radia, no power nothing buy the 385hp Z06(010
so pleaseford can't do it evenwith advancedhigh reving 4v dohc..they neded a blower and still it deadly loe.. screwyou lunch with the cobra and your done.. whixh mosot puk face kids do'' all ipt at first was a cut out a lid , sealed the ram air openings to it..and i was in the mid 12.. oh i used 160 dollar instaleed nito Drs.when my super expensive eagle wore ot after only 9 thoughs and miles
i lauggh at almost every import that revs.. with my presnt stalll.. its worth.75 inthe 1/4 ofcourse that with Dr's
