Yes, I lived in california at the time and went to a specialy car audio shop called Sound Advice.
Just look for a small car audio shop, and they should have it for you. You might want to try Best Buy also.

yes you need one. the 1st gen (91-95) dont need a kit neither do the 3rd gen (some 99-02). 2nd gen cars need the install kit. you can find them online at places like www.sounddomain.com (http://www.sounddomain.com) and www.crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com). good audio places will have the kit or be able to get it. you can also try circuit city and best buy for the kits. its not hard to find at all. but there are 2 different kinds, one with a pocket and one without.

I had to get both when I did my stereo. Wire harness AND install kit.

i hate the wiring kits, but it makes it so much more simple to install. i typically always put new speaker wire in, so i always rewire mine. i never use wire install kits because its just too bulky for me.

thats what mine looks like. looks messier in the picture but everything tucks up nicely and is all nice and clean and very easy to slide the head unit in place. i have my rear speaker wires taped together as with my front wires taped together. this keeps clutter down and is easier to figure which is which. i solder everything together and heat shrinked it.
if you know how to wire, and can figure which wire is which, then i route for rewire. now if you dont know much (like what kind of connections to use, where to cut) then get the kit. i hate when people use like twist caps to wire their cars or just twist the wires together and tape them. thats just asking for a problem.

i think i will get an wireing harness just cause it is easyer and i don't really want to get an actual system for it yet. ( still in school) right now i just want to get rid of the factory stuff execpt for the wire.
