Bought A Xbox 360

Well i was all excited today when i got my bonus so i decided to go buy a xbox 360...welp in short i am very dissapointed the system is great but the games are not to much fun...maybe its just because there all new..anyone know of any good games?

My brother and I have GRAW, Fight Night, PGR3, Top Spin 2, and Call of Duty 2. I can't get bored playing GRAW or Fight Night, but the other get boring once you beat them.

^good luck guys. i was going to wait for the PS3 to come out too but with all the shit sony's going through and the problems they're having with the hardware, that thing is never coming out. according to Sony's original plan that shit was intended to come out this month.



i went out and got an Xbox360 myself a few days ago. i got Condemned and Fight Night Round 3, both games kick ass. i also got Dead or Alive 4 but i'm not really feelin' it so much. i'm waiting for Godfather to come out in July and i'll probably pick up that new battlefield game when i finish condemned and fight night. the first generation of games usually aren't the best for most system, Microsoft was lucky that they had Halo for a launch title. it wasn't until later that the rest of the really good games started coming out.

I know it was suppost to come out, but i'd rather them do it right than have problems like the Xbox did when it came out. Also I dont really see it as a bad thing that you got to wait, mainly because I then have enough time to save up to buy it.

I've played NBA Live 06, Madden, Condemned, King Kong, Perfect Dark, Need For Speed, and Call of Duty. I would recommend NFS and Call of Duty to own, and to rent Condemned and King Kong. Been waiting for my blockbuster to get GRAW and Far Cry in.

the problem with waiting for the ps3 is you're going to have to wait for longer than the release date because:

1) the stores can only carry so many, they're going to be bought pretty quickly.

2) sony can only make enough for so many ppl to buy it, they're most likely going to have a shortage.

3) their launch doesn't look too strong, to play some good games you're going to have to wait an awful long time concidering the compexity of the system and the difficulties that ppl are having in programing games. it's going to be at least a year before you see a truly awsome game.


i'd suggest getting a 360 now and having that for a while to entertain you, and if you still want the ps3 when it comes out, get it. or just wait until you see some good games come out.

they're everywhere ish. not in huge supply but you can find them a lot easier now. just gotta look for them bceause must people gave up.

If Sony didn't go with this new blue-ray technology, then they wouldn't be having nearly as many problems, that's what you get for trying to be different.

the thing is that the 360 already does have some decent games, and they'll get better as the time goes on. the PS3 isn't coming out until november (if then) and they're probably going to run int a shortage so some ppl are going to have to wait another year until they have the PS3. even if they do get one, they're not going to have good games until at least a year after the launch. if you're willing to wait 2 years be my guest. or you could get the revolution (when it comes out in like what? 5 years lol). i think microsoft have chosen a good release date for the 360 because they'll profit from the PS3's failings. i bet alot of people went and bought 360's when they heard the release date was postponed.

So far the games I've really liked are...

Oblivion - I've never played a game with so much freedom
COD2 - the single player is fun but I can spend hours playing this on live
Quake 4 - the multiplayer isn't as fun but the single player is long and challenging

So far the games I haven't liked are...

PDZ - the single player just sucked and the multiplayer wasn't worth it
GRAW - I know a whole lot of people love this game but I just don't have the patience to strategize, I just want to shoot somebody and be done with it

Fight night, condemned, elderscrolls, battlefield, Ghost Recon are all good games worth playing IMO. the 360's launch titles weren't Amazing but when the next generation of games comes out (like the godfather, Resident Evil 5, Too Human, Halo 3 etc.) you're gonna be kicking yourself.

but speaking of not having any games worth playing, when's the last time you played your PS2(other than GT4)? I haven't even looked at mine in like 6 months other than to play Tourist Trophy, which entertained me for all of 2 days before i decided to get a 360. PS2 hasn't had a game worth 2 shits in a long time, PSP either. i'd rather play something new, than sit around and wait 9 months for a system that's probably gonna get pushed back again anyway. I'm gonna end up getting both systems, but at least i'll have a 360 to entertain myself til the PS3 comes out.

Actually you're wrong on that part.. Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming out next year so if the Ps3 is going to come out as well next year you'll probably have to wait a couple of months to have a truly awesome game.

umm, PS3/XBOX, either one, i'm gonna wait til a good racing game comes out. If xbox has a new forza out first, that'll be what i get. if PS3 has a GT5 come out first, then it'll be the ps3. although, i still favor the xbox360 cuz ive got the first xbox. that and i have a secret vendetta against Sony.

I never said what I beat, I said I beat what I thought were the coolest games dumbass. PS2 and Gamecube are nice mentions, but the lack of mentioning SNES and the NES means you got nothing. And the release date is nothing more than to hype people up just like the 360. It's marketing and Sony knows they can only wait so long since the Revolution premiers May 9th.

Ok look I’m totally unbiased I buy the console with the best spec/games, but the things that I have heard and experienced from sony is BS starting from the emotion engine of the playstation 2 which has been stated from sony to have twice the power of a Pentium 3 733mhz now that’s a little funny given the fact that the XBOX which has been proven to have far superior graphics to the PS2 runs a Pentium 3 733mhz CPU.

I’m currently a fan of Microsofts console because they promise/deliver and actually have the hardware to back it up.

Now down to the current games on the 360, if you own a high end computer don’t expect much if any difference in performance. Ok call of duty runs a bit better, games like far cry have had a resolution hike and some nice water effects, Oblivion has bugs and runs less that what I expected but hey it’s a new console it is going to take at least a year before any games are going to look next gen, if you’ve notice most of there games are actually ports for high end PC’s there current games are running somthing like 30-40% max potential.


Get an xbox 360 if you want next gen games today, wait for the Playstation 3 if you want it tomorrow. Why wait for Sony who promises everything but in reality offers very little in the way of hardware, when you can dive into the HD eara with a machine that promises the world and delivers more.

actually, the PS3 has 4 processors. it has 3 specific (i forget the name) function processors and one general purpose. the xbox 360 has three general purpose processors. this means the xbox is alot easier to program for because you only have to design code as though it had one bigass processor whereas on the ps3 you have to design 3-4 different sets of code. i heard that the xbox does have a better graphics card but im not 100% sure of it.

basicly, the ps3 is a more powerful machine but you pay much much more for it. and it'll be a while before they get a bunch of really good games because it's soo much harder to program for. metal gear solid is the only big title i've heard of for sometime near launch.

I'm not bothering with XBox 360, I was massively disappointed, especially with the graphics, I played PGR3 and honestly, it was maybe all of 25% better in terms of presentation than your standard XBox game? Oblivion is very tempting, I must admit, other wise everything else is either dumb or just an XBox port.

I'm definitely going PS3, I don't mind paying the higher price for what will be a superior product, it'll be the BMW of consoles, no doubt.

Yeah it'd be cool if the view was the kind you get in like KOTOR. Anyway, the game is very good and ingrossing. I have about 30 hours in my game so far and I haven't even started on the main quest. I've been too busy with the guilds and becoming the champion of the arena.

There are suppose to be a couple more rpg games coming out. Really though the number isn't even a drop in the bucket as Sony has alwasy had RPG and JRPG games on their side. Lost Odyssey, Ninty-Nine Nights, Blue Dragon, and a couple of others though will be JRPG for the 360. I also think Bioware is making KOTOR 3, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect (will come in a trilogy if I'm not mistaken). It will be a nice little selection though.

I've also heard there might be two new Halo games. One will be Halo 3 and the other will be nothing but an online Halo like World of Warcraft.

I like Xbox better than PS2, but I think the PS3 will be better this generation. Xbox360 is not that much better than the original Xbox. The graphics are a little better and it is wireless for $100 more. PS3 has all this to compare before they even launch. They will probably make it better. They have to, unless they are stupid.

:1: anyone seen Gears of War which is due within 6 months??? that game is running the New Unreal Engine 3. and it is said that the 360 was only using one of its 3 cores during its Exihibition, check out the screen below and yes its actual in game footage although what is more amazing is that the 360 could do over twice that in graphics in the future, Amazing, don't think Sony would even come close.

Yup the date did get changed for Halo 3 I think they pushed it back another year or something, and instead Xbox360 will do a price drop when Ps3 comes out.

Well with one core running less than 4000HHZ (PS3 specs) in my opinion could not double the performance graphics of this game given the 360 has 2 extra cores as its disposal each running at 3200MHZ.

Why has Sony delayed the Playstation 3. Because they know that with the hype that they have made about the current specs for there console, they would get there ass handed to them by Microsoft’s monster.

I hope they change there specs and kill Microsoft in fact. So that we all get some type of next neeext gen console but sadly I doubt this due to the previous hype that Sony made about the PS2, and the fact that the 360 has an extreme power plant of a machine that will be hard to beat, you have to remember that Microsoft actually builds super computers, Sony had to go to IBM for there one, so its more like IBM vs Microsoft, Invidia vs ATI when it comes down to the tech powering these machines.

There's nothing bad about going to another company to get something superior as long as its superior.. also ATI sucks compared to NVidia, so thats even more reason to go with Ps3..

Also you can tell how scared Microsoft is of Sony because they're doing stuff to get people to buy their crap instead of Sony's..

You already complained about Sony fanboys when you're a Microsoft fanboy, but I never said that's bad. like i said, i have every system that's come out since atari 2600 sans the atari jaguar and the 3do, i was trying to give my UNBIASED opinion. i like my Ps2 for the few games it has that are better, ie the Gran turismo series(and Tourist Trophy), Socom series, Red faction etc. but if there is one game out for both systems i'll get it for the xbox cuz it'll look better, play better and it's on a better system, if that makes me a "fanboy" so be it.
