abs burnt connector

After replacing a blown #10 fuse all functions returned to normal. 1 day later the abs light is on.replaced the pressure switch due to fluid seeping out. No help. light still on. I crawled under to check out the connector for the abs module and there it was, a burnt connection from fluid seeping through the module into the pins and shorting. This looks like a complete harness change along with the module. Has anyone ever dealt with this problem if so any input would be appreciated. thanks for all the updates.

I dealt with a similar problem on a 95' sable (still have it) when a connector for the headlight switch was melted......I went to the wrecking yard and cut out the connector and about 10" of wire with it. Then soldered it to the harness to replace the old burnt up connector. When doing this make sure the color codes match up (Ford and Mercury use the same connectors but different color codes) and also disconnect the battery, soldering on a live circuit is never a good idea. Use heat shrink to insulate the wiring and not electrical tape, tape comes off and heat shrink lasts longer than the car....

You should be able to pick up another connector kit at a dealer. It's fairly simple to do. Just cut the old one off and replace it in most cases. After replacing the connector, test the system before replacing the ABS module. ABS is designed to shut down completely and immediately if there is a problem, so it may be good still.
