I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado and every once in a while when I try to start it and it wont crank up, it sounds like it is cutting off fuel to the engine and if I tilt the steering column the SECURITY light comes on until I turn off my truck. I was just wondering if anyone has had any problem similar to this or any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi, Harvick29 -
I joined this and other forums to try to help my dealer solve this same problem (many attempts) and have now contacted Chevrolet to help on my behalf. It sounds like a pretty common problem among GM owners, but many of us seem to be frustrated (Security light that comes on its own, sometimes shuts the engine down). I have been to my own dealer three times and have spent considerable money on this one...am hoping to finally solve it. If you wouldn't mind, I'm trying to get feedback in one place so that I can submit more info to Chevy and my dealer. Here is the thread:

I appreciate if you would just respond on that one...and there's also a Security Bulletin on that page that you should check out. However, on other forums, I've seen it suggested that it's an ignition switch problem. Not sure if that's in the Security Bulletin as I haven't read it yet.
Thanks! Hope we can all get this problem fixed.
