Timing Belts on a 95

Hello all, I don't know much about cars so i hope you guys can help. I'm taking my car in for some work and my father in law keeps telling me I should get the timing belts done (this guy is a know-it-all type ). The car runs well it has about 105,000 miles on it, runs pretty good a little shaky but thats about it.

My question is that a crucial thing to get looked at?

there is no timing belt, there is a timing chain with no schedule service interval, replace as need(before it breaks, most appearent sign is a loud rattle noise)

yeah, its more likely that the timing chain guides wear out before the chain becomes an issue.
