Hey I just put in some new speakers, Sony 5 1/2". I want to get some more bass out of them, so I'm gonna move those speakers up front, and get new ones for the back. I know I could cut to fit 6 1/2" speakers, and I was wondering if anyone had ever put 6x9's in, cause that's what I really want to do, but I'm not sure if it would work. Thanks

6 1/2" oversized is whats suppose to be in the car. if you want more bass, get subs. coaxials arent meant to be bassy, they are a mix between highs and lows, thats why they are called midrange speakers. the best way to go is with subs and turn the bass low on the midranges to have them last longer.

I forgot to mention, I do have a 12 inch sub. I just wanted to get some more punch out of my speakers.

Adding a small amp to a good set of 6 1/2's or switching them for 6 1/2" bass drivers. You won't get the deep lows of a sub though.
