i gave it my girlfriend, when i was 15... by far the stupidest thing ive done. at the time it seemed like a big deal... but now it dont.

He asked, so i answered. I dont see the big deal in saying that i regret it.

its not just you... many of these ive noticed have had some form of regret behind it. hell me too. i reget it. no one... well of the ones ive been skimming through, has gone off and said hell yeah and many more. its all had almost a solomn tone to this.

and its not a big deal. to say your opinion of it.. only an idiot would say yeah i did it when i was 15 and proud of it.

edit: never regret your actions. whatever you have done serves as wisdom. Actions you may have taken may not have been smart, but they have always made you more the wiser.

i think it's that at the time everyone think they're ready, they think they're mature enough etc. it's only in retrospect that we realise its something we should've saved for the one(s) we love. we regret it because we've found someone we love and we cant take back waht we've done.

we say we regret it because we do, what the point in not saying it? as said above; they asked we answered, and we added regret in some cases.

bottom line, we were stupid, many thought that it's something you do to say you've done it. i think...

I don't regret doing it, I regret being so young. And thinking that I was grown-up. And being naive enough to think that I was going to be with the same person forever. And not being able to give it to the one person I love more than anything.

aren't almost all of us guilty of that? the thing is it takes something like this to realise other things, we're not as mature as we think. but it's too late, the wake-up call just comes too late.

What I'm wondering, was when those of you who did loose it at 15, I'm sure you've heard someone telling you not to do it, why did you not listen to them? I mean they could have told you that ahead of time. I realize that my question may come across to some in the wrong way, but I'm just wondering, how could we convince a 15 year old to not to do it? Or should we just let them go ahead and experience the regret for themselves?

I can't speak from experience because I still have mine, but I'm just really wondering.

I have the most wonderful mom, she instills everything in me very well. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't go to parties. I never have. I'm a really good kid.

I think it's something that they're going to do on their own, society doesn't really look down upon it enough. Trust me, when I was contemplating it, I had many more people telling me that there wasn't really much to worry about and that it wouldn't make me a bad person and pretty much reassuring me...

You know, it's kind of funny how so many people usually say stuff like "Bah, it was nothing. People always make too big a deal out of it." etc. And yet, those are often the same people who are the first to shoot me tidbits of "advice" like: "don't just settle, because that's what I did" and other such articles that really lead me to believe that they took it more to heart than they'll admit.

If it had been the result of a brief relationship, I would have regretted it. However, it meant a lot because of the life we share together.

i dont know about the rest of you but did your relationship with... who ever you lost it to, change afterward. i know it did for me, and her, but did it change for anyone else. i did notice it led to a few awkquard conversations after the fact.

Might sound sad but I've always thought that its better to get your career going and everything important/security in life lined up before entering a relationship, my views on life have changed so much in the spand of about 2 years, I think I'm lucky to not have had a bad experience in a relationship at an early age. Once I find the right person though its all on lol :2cents:

i agree 100%, actually. there are a lot of pro's to having a significant other during this time of life, don't look at all the cons. I can honestly tell you that I would not be here in this point of my life, as successful as a human being i may be, if it weren't for serious past girlfriends, i'd have probably driven off a bridge by now. It's amazing what influence someone else may have on your perspective on life... just my :2cents:

i totally agree too. or even just having an extremely close friend. it's great to have someone there who's always supporting you and is there to cuddle with you at the end of the day. a girl isn't always a distraction :)
