2001 sc2 air intake question

i noticed recently i was getting an odd rattle from under the hood when i put the car in gear when it was running rough & at fast idle. i found out what it was. i have a 2001 sc2. if you start at the throttle body where the hose runs around the back of the engine compartment against the firewall, then around the turn where it runs forward to the left of the battery, there's a steel bracket on the engine with a slot in it & on the plastic intake tube, there's a molded plastic rod with a little notch on the end which fits in the steel notch bracket on the engine to align up the plastic tube. it just rests in there & tends to rattle. the egr valve is right below that area. anyway, it almost seems like there's supposed to be a small clip on the end of the plastic rod comming out of the intake tube, but on my car, there's nothing & it rattled there loudly. i just put a plastic tie strap around that area to hold it snug, but does anybody know if there's supposed to be some kind of clip there? it almost seems like there's supposed to be a clip that slids in the groove on the plastic rod which should hold it tight against the steel bracket. can somebody who owns a 2001 sc2 look at their car to see if there's a clip on theirs?
