Sirius Satellite Radio

My wife has a 2002 Saturn SL2 ... for Christmas I bought her a Sirius Satelite Radio...I got the XACT Visor unit. Has anyone had a problem with a really crappy FM transmission to the stock Saturn head unit? I get a lot of crackling in the speakers when the satellite radio is on, but it's crystal clearn when it's just AM/FM radio. I had a little FM transmitter for my MP3 player, put that in her car and got the same results. I went out and bought the Sirius FM Modulator where you plug it into the FM Out on the Sirius, plug your car antenna into the modulator then plug the modulator into your head units antenna input. It cleared up the quality of the sound a little, but the crackling is still there. I've come to the conclusion that these stock head units don't receive any transmission well other then AM/FM. I'm about to go buy a new head unit because the crackling is so annoying you can't listen to the music without paying attention to it. Has anyone else had this problem or know of anyone that did?

Thanks

I also had the same problem with my 2002 SC2. My car has a cassette player, so I purchased an adaptor that plugs into the tape deck to allow the Sirius radio to play thru my original speakers.

I hope this helps.
