2000 SC2 service engine light?

I have a light on my 2000 SC2 that pops up below my speedometer i dont know what it means. Its kinda like an arrow facing down inside a square The arrow points down on up and down swirves. It only appears when im on the highway or freeway.

is your car a manual transmission. If so. it is a shift indicator lamp

Yes the car is manual, however, the light im talking about is not the shift indicator light.. shift indicator light is an arrow pointing up and it is a yellow/orange light and it is on the right side of the speedometer area or where the RPM are. The light that im talking about is a small arrow within a small square right undernearth the speedometer. It comes out when im already running in 5th gear around 70 mph. I dont think its cause of the gears and it only comes out once in a while and the arrow/square is red in color.

maybe low coolant light? if so, the either coolant is low or your coolant temperature sensor has gone bad. do you have the original owners manual? it will tell you what that light is. from all i can figure its got to be the coolant level, but not 100% on that.
