ive got a sun roof with one of those shade doors under it. the liner on the shade is falling off. half of it is glued on. whats the best reccemended way to reatatch the rest of it back on? or is there even a simple fix for this? thanx in advance.

probably going to have to pull it out, then recover it. i worked in an upholstery shop and redone mine in tweed to match my headliner i did.

would that be the best reccemended way to do it? tear it completely off and redo the whole thing? theres no way to rig the loose part up?

there is, but the foam underneath is probably shot, and thats why it fell. its easiet to fix when out of the car.

how do i remove the whole shade out of the roof?

ok if i remember right, you need to remove the glass, 4 bolts. do that buy opening the shade and you should see the bolts on each corner. then put shade back in place and from outside the car you should see 4 tabs that slip into the sunroof frame. pull those tabs back, probably just do one side, and lift it out.

so i would have to remove the sunroof glass? wouldnt that break the seal and be difficult to put back together?

no, the glass and seal are fixed to a frame, which is bolted to the arms. you are unbolting the entire glass/seal/frame piece. its simple, open your shade and look at the corners and you will notice the bolts holding it on.

so unbolt the whole assembly and the door should come right off? and the bold are on the inside of the car. what are the odds of damaging anything?

unlikely, just four bolts that hold glass on,lift it off, then push the tabs back and lift out the shade.

i was lookin over a repair manual i have that covers 91-93. i assume the same would work for a 94. according it the procedurs to remove the sunshade sound pretty difficult. to remove it and fix the liner would this be a do it yourself job or would i be better off payin a proffesional to do it? thanx

no its a simple fix. im certain yours will be just about the same. here are some pictures to help.

ok first remove the bolts (probably torx) holding the glass/frame on the tracks. best to open the sunroof a tad bit so you can lift it off easier. i said there were 4 but there are 6.

now you will find these little tabs in each corner. pull them back and lift it out. arrow points to where it is so you know what to look for, they are obvious when glass is off.
