They do tune at pretty reasonable price i just e-mailed them to see if they will give us a group rate.

They said they will have the first one in march   . I can't wait.

I just got a response from ams, the can't tune very many car in one day. I never even thought of that. But i asked how much to just dyno. I said 25-50 people (which could be way off). Hopefully that wont be too much.

I jusr got an e-mail from ams $50 for fwd, $60 for awd three pulls, $20 for wideband o2. Let me know what you guys think. It's a pretty big break from their normal normal price.
btw sorry if this makes no sense i'm pretty drunk.

blk_srt
02-26-2006, 05:00 PM
doesn't sound bad BUT if we go that route we would have to sacrifice going to the track(although I would rather have my car professionally tuned) and we would have to figure out where to stay/meet. and isn't chi town pretty expensive?

MexRocket

wal mart... camp out... no money involved... lol

Thor06
02-26-2006, 08:56 PM
Not sure if I would be down to go to AMS, arent they south of Chicago? Also, I doubt that a professional tune would cost $60, I think those rates are just for a 3 pulls to see what kind of power you make. I found a couple DSMers up here that would be down to go also.

ez1286
02-26-2006, 09:22 PM
No, AMS is north of chicago. Yeah $60 for DYNO only (awd, $50 for fwd) 3 pulls. I could see if the could tune some cars. They said they couldn't tune that many cars in one day, maybe they would tune some cars aftrwards. Why would we have to sacrafice going to the track?

Yeah there's quite a few around, I'll see about renting one. Or maybe just a group thing (once i was at a track and they hd like two hours dedicated for a lightning club that was there so maybe we could do something like that).

Sorry to bring this back, but i found this track for cheap as hell!!! $3500 for a monday or tuesday!!! 8am to 5pm. If we get 10 people to commit i'm definetely down!!!

http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/rc_track_rental.asp sorry i meant to put that in the first post, i also e-mailed a place in central wisconsin.

Thor06
03-16-2006, 09:34 PM
Elliot, that place is in the middle of Iowa near the border with Nebraska. Plus, 10 people would be $350 a person, way too much for me. I think our best and cheapest bet would be to just get into a normal day at a track. I just talked to someone that runs there, he said on a normal day (not one of the import days) you can just run like hell. He said it wasnt uncommon for him to make 20+ runs in a day. Even with the added people there because of this meet, we should be fine. They (rock falls) havent return either of my emails or phone calls, but I think renting the whole track will be too costly. I bet if we got like 15 or 20+ to go, we could get a group discount. Anyone in Eau Claire know of a good park to cook out at with enough space for ~30 cars?

violent31601

Yes I do, Carson park right in eau claire..LOTS OF SPACE

ez1286

I e-mailed a place in wisconsin about renting or just running cause they didn't have prices, they have a spot on the track where you camp. I think it's free to camp, not sure though.

Thor06
03-16-2006, 09:42 PM
Dope ass. I was hoping you would see that violent ;). I think that would be the best, if people only came for the show/cookout/swap meet they might now be able to get in later.

MexRocket
03-16-2006, 10:19 PM
See that is more realistic. We should do that, go up to smelly wisconsin, eat and camp out up there this summer, I am game except for the first week of june (orientation)

ez1286
03-16-2006, 11:01 PM
I'm game for anywhere really, i just thought 3500 was cheap. I know three people (including myself) who are for sure going we'll end up with more than 10 people for sure. I really want to go somewhere with a road course cause that would kick ass.

violent31601
03-16-2006, 11:05 PM
A road course or some sort of track would be fun, definatly can't do that anywhere around here, although we can in Rock Falls?

Thor06
03-16-2006, 11:28 PM
Does rock falls have a road course? I definately think that would be fun, but my car would definately not be set up for it. I'm thinking like the around the 18th of july.

ez1286
03-16-2006, 11:31 PM
I don't think your car has to be that set up for it just don't beat the hell out of it. I watched a few vids of cars on tracks it looks like so much fun.

violent31601
03-16-2006, 11:56 PM
i havn't been there in a long time, but if i remember its just a drag track 1/4 mile

MexRocket
03-17-2006, 12:16 AM
What exactly is a road course? Is it like obstacles and turns and driving through water type of deal? I would most likely need to upgrade my suspension so I don't pull a Sean, (fuck tard brother) Oh, and have my exhaust not held up by clothes hangers, or just a turbo back =P then I would do it.

ez1286
03-17-2006, 12:33 AM
It's basically a curvy course (sometimes hilly too) that you can go as fast as you want on here's a map of the one in iowa http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/rc_maps.asp

E-Klips
03-17-2006, 12:52 AM

violent31601
03-17-2006, 01:21 AM
Rock falls is just a really big place to meet/race, in 1/4 fashion

yeah yeah when is the meet? I was thinking Gateway internation raceway in St. Louis missouri, but i guess you guys want to go further north right?

I'd be perfectly happy w/ iowa. it's not terribly far from missouri.

I'll also try bringing a blue TSI that should run 11's, a 460whp spyder, and a dark green galant that should run low 11's. Should make for some interesting things.

If you guys are advertising you might try stlsr.com and kcsr.org, some hardcore dsm guys there too.

Are evo's invited? or strictly the 90's 4g63t powered cars?

Is anyone going to come to the DSM meet we have in missouri this fall?

MexRocket
05-07-2006, 09:22 PM
I am hoping it is open to DSM in general..... Just I hope we don't plan on having it like June 3-12 I have graduation, Orientation, and AMS Swap meet

Ok so july 20th..... sounds like a firm date.... We could all travel up to Lake Geneva in wisconsin, big lots, girls and a park to frisbee or whatver up there. 10 bucks for a day pass. or we could meet up and drive up there, it's a real nice drive.
