Hey everyone please help me with this issue I'm going to lose my job if I cant get this fixed. I live in montana, and so of course it gets extremely cold. When we attempt to start our car in the morning we put the key in the ignition and turn the key and it just clicks. Everything else turns on like it should but for some reason the car will not start. Brand new battery, starts any other time except early in the morning. The other day I spent 45 minutes trying to jump start the car thinking that it was a bad battery (happened with another car) and nothing. We are going to buy a block heater on payday today, but we would still would like to know if you guys have any other ideas on what it could be. Thank you for your help...

if everything is coming on, and the start is clicking, that means there isnt enough juice or a bad starter. you could have a loose connection somewhere, battery possibly since its sidepost it can cause issues because most overtighten and strip it, then its not tight. when you hear the clicking go out and check the voltage in the battery with a voltmeter. if its like 12.5 or higher the car would start easily, when its near 12, then it will be slow to crank. but if you have enough voltage, then you might want to think about a new starter. if the battery seems to drain down, then look into the belt tensioner being bad or alternator. the belt tensioner can make seem like the alternator is bad.
