I have a 1999 SC2 that will not start, the battery is fully charged and tested, it just wont crank, I did notice that the radio, clock and power locks stopped working, I checked all the fuses(in the car & under the hood) with a voltmeter,I am thinking ignition switch?? Does any one have the wiring diag ? Has anyone seen this before? It would make it a lot easier to trouble shoot.
Thanks for your help

Welcome to the forum. You should have 12 volts at the small wire on the starter when the key is in the start position.
I'm with you on the ignition switch. Autozones online repair manual is for 91 thru 98 but should be very similar if not exact for you 99. There is a wiring diagram on the page in this link you can click on and expand.

good luck and let us know.

Problem solved!!
I went into the fuse box, I had no power going to some of the fuses, I had to take the box all apart and one of the main lines coming in(Fat red wire) was losing coonection to the pin, I cleaned it all all up and it all works fine now, I might have to change the box in the near future.
Thanks for all that responded.

Am having the same problem i think. Car starts some times no problem but other times it has the problem. Key turns and dashboard lights up, radio lights up but is blank and is static, remoteless entry does not work, and alarm does not work. No turnover either. So you would recommend taking the entire fuse box apart and checking each fuse. I was thinking it might of been a fuse. Thanks.

A blown fuse would not let the engine start at all. A bad ground maybe. I would look into your alarm system Disable it and see if the problem persists.

so then your car acts up sometimes, but the works other times? you could try like he said, but might want to check the side post terminals on the battery and check the grounds. the grounds typically corroded easily on some cars

I have a 97 sl2 and the same problem. The dome light, radio and door locks did not work. I found the problem to be an electrical connection on the center counsule under the dash on the drivers side where you take off a plastic cover panel near the cigeratte lighter. I wiggled the wires and everthing started to work. To much pressure from the wire harness kept pull on the connector pins and with the virbration of the car finally made it a short.
