How to beat a ford probe

hey i can beat any gsr any turbo whatever i hated on probes till i got one its fast.

shutup, you wont beat ANY GSR, let alone ANY probe. I was with my friend in his 95 LS sedan the other day and we raced a probe GT that had 2 guys in it and we barely lost. a GSR might, and a modded one should pull by it at thew end if not for thew whole race, and drop a turbo under the hood of the LS and that probe would look like it wasnt moving. Im not hating probes, they are pretty quick, but they arent FAST

I'd just like to announce that I hate my probe, I thought they were nice cars till i bought one....I live in Phoenix, it's for sale if anybody's interested ;)

I beat them all day long, a bunch of my buddy's have them and they arnt nothing special, one of my buddys has one with Headers, no cat, cat back, CAI and stuff and he only runs 15.6 u should be right with them if not take them, i do i got a 95 ls

When I was looking for cars, the salesman was telling me the probe would rock the GSR. I got pissed though cause he kept trying to get me to buy it when I didnt want it. It was a 6, which probly was quick. I wish I'd have test drove it.

my friend was looking at a gsr and the sales man was saying the cavalier z24 is way faster casue he owns one and i counted to 10 backwards to deep breathes then walked away he wasnt worth the argument

your crazy!! i have a 93 ford probe gt and i spank V8's all day long!! I kept up with a cobra svt until about 80 (but the speed limit was only 40 so i slowed down). but everybody under-estimates what probes can really do. i admit that probes arn't the best looking things but they are pretty quick. my probe ran a 15.2 stock. there arn't many stock domestic V6's that can do that. but once i get it back i would race any V8 that got up next to me.

I mean, honestly... Things like this are the reason probes get no respect. I have the same 2.5l mazda engine in my 626. Due to complications in september, the motor blew :loser: . I have have the motor out of a 93' 626, so the specs are a bit different. Less torque and a different redline if I'm not mistaken. Anywho, GSR's are tough. I see no reason why a GSR couldnt beat a PGT stock for stock depending on the drivers. I personally have yet to run across one in a race, but even with my mod's I'm not completely sure of the outcome.

All I'm saying is, dont sleep on probe *GT's*, mazda mx6 *LS's* or 626 *ES's*. You might be suprised at what they can do.

You mean you can chirp every gear up to 4th? My friend has a GSR, and he has only chirped 3rd once... *shrugs*

I can only chirp 2nd on my car, but thats probably because my clutch is dying...

Ford doesn't have "vtec" or more correctly, without the brand name attached: Variable valve timing, in all their cars.

I'll tell you how to beat a probe....buy a PRELUDE Muahahahahaha....and if that probe has 460 something hp then shoot his tires as youre going down the track...then when you beat him turn around and drag him out of his POS and take his money lol Havent lost a race yet since Ive started doing that...beat a Viper by 20 car lengths last weekend as a matter of fact :)

Ford Probes aroud 96 are the big car where i live i cant stand them. is there any way short of a turbo i could beat one with a 90 teg ls. Most of the probes only have body kits and a resonater nothing else. There may be a handfull out of litraly hundreds that have boltons. Right now im stock except rims and springs.


since you said Probes r fast.. ima have to cop one.. nah i already got it my gurls brother gave me it.. its something like a 98.. he jus swaped a mazda 626 turbo motor in it. he had nuttin but problems cuz hes a queer when it comes to cars he knows shit.. this guy that works a land rover doing oil changes charged him 3500 to do the swap. he did it, it runs but has some lil problems so im taking it gunna fix it up and probly keep it jus to find out how fast it can go with some work!!...
