Things to do when swapping to a 1g intake manifold?

I'm going to be putting a 1g intake manifold and throttle body on my car next week and I wanted to make sure that I have everything to do the swap. I know you have to use the 2g tps, but what about the IAC? How about the map sensor, what do you do with that? On the 2g throttle body there are 3 vacuum ports on top and the 1g has 2 is that a big deal? Any other info relating to the swap would be nice. Thanks

Don't install a 1g intake & TB onto a 2g head.

Why?

Becasue the 2g head has smaller runner ports into the cylinder head. You would be decreasing performance & effency with that mod

It will only be on there for maybe a few months untill I get my 1g head. I dont think that will hurt anything will it?

yeah, it will. You'll have so much interference in your Air volosity...

Well I will have to figure out what to do when the time comes. I'm pulling the head anyway on monday so I figured what the hell

Just trust me, the 1g intake & TB on a non-port matched head will do diddly squat for you, if anything it will loose performance.

well, I guess I'll see if I can port match it at the same time. This is all a school project and I get credit for everything I am going to do.

If you need a 1g head, I have one you can have for $100 + shipping / trade & part $$

its a 91 N/A head (just needs cams) off 118k laser, I took it off last october Its complete except the coilpack. valvecover, CAS (blacktop) Intake/TB all the sensors.

The problem with port matching is that to do it right you will need to dissasemble the head and have it cleaned. Not worth the effort and money if you are going to replace it later. I would think putting those parts on with the 1g head would make much more sense and much better use of your time. If you really want to put the manifold on now for school project credit just put it on and deal with a little extra turblence until you get the 1g head.

I actually had to fully disassemble the head and clean it anyway, and one of the students in my class has a degree in cylinder head machining and hes going to do it for free.
