Torque Value for lug nuts

I've heard about warping brake rotors due to over-torquing the wheel lug nuts... What is the proper lug nut torque value for a 2001 Impala LS with the 3.8L motor??

100 ft-lbs.

Thanks for the quick answers.... I'm thinking about buying what is called a "torquestik" for proper torquing the lug nuts... They come in various drive sizes and torque values... So I'm looking at a 1/2" drive with a 19mm socket "torquestik" that is set to 100 ft-lbs... Cost about $40... Anyone ever use one of these instead of a torque wrench?

nope never heard of them, but id still suggest getting a torque wrench, there are plaenty of things that need to be touqued properly and they are not all 100ft/lbs. I got a torque wrench from sears that goes up to like 150 ft/lbs 1/2 drive and I use it all the time.

just if you do get a torque wrench, remember when your done using it to return it to 0 ft/lbs. otherwise your keeping undo tension of the springs and whatnot and it can become inaccurate over time.
