2005 Impala Wiper Blades

I have a 2005 Impala that has the wiper blades stopping in the up position. They work just fine when used in the normal manner at any speed, but when they are turned off they come to rest straight up and down instead of down at the bottom. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas how to fix it short of the dealership?
