I am ready to re-mount my body on the frame. My problem is that when I took the body of I did a stupid and took the doors off before body removal. I am afraid that I may have "bent" the body. Do you think I can pull this down when we re-mount the body?:banghead:
Any help is appreciated.!!

You should be able to pull it back into shape. I'm sure it's not that far off. How did you support the body when it was off? My best guess is to get the body mounted back to the chassis and then try the doors.

Thanks Bob; It is a convert. when I removed the body, we laid it on 3 6X6 post on our warehouse floor. I hate to say this, but it's been sitting there for 6 years, but now that all frame work is complete, we're putting things back together. I'll find out this weekend!!
Thanks to you and maxwedge for the input.

Ahhh I gotcha. Convertibles lack the support sedans and hardtops have. I had a '66 SS convertible myself as well as many other '65-68 Chevys of various body styles. Like I suggested, you should be ok with it. Did you get a new bushing kit? That would get it back to factory specs as best as could be hoped. Door hinges are shimmable. Post some pix when you get it back together.

Bob; Yes have new bushing kit! did 1 thing right anyway!. I'm going to do the dirty deed, because I have no rotissery, I'm going to sand blast bottom of body (brush blast) from the floor. Going to apply 2 coats of "coal tar" epoxy to underside and fender wells. I'll let you know on progress,,,, may need more help later. Thanks!
