i have a 2001 sc2. there's a service bulletin# 00-T-57A where they install a powertrain damper kit between the engine cradle & frame right under the battery to stop vibration at certain vehicle speeds. has anyone had this done to their car? if so, does it really help? it's supposed to dampen vibration between the engine & body. i really don't have a lot of vibration maybe a little from the engine & this sounds like a good idea to have done even though i really don't need it. it's part# 2102637 for an automatic transaxle. it looks like a hydraulic shock absorber & has a couple of brackets. sounds like a great upgrade. i see similer devices on expensive cars as well....

i am familar with the kit you speak of. the speed range is something like 47-56 MPH. if the kit was a lot cheaper i may install it for fun, but i have other needs for the money.

The part number (21012637) for the automatic models runs $140.00 from saturn. i'm bringing the car feb 4th for this work. they want $325.00 to install the kit. the hell with it, i'll just let them do it. it's cold here now for me to do it....
