I've a look on the previous liv. design: your words made me to think that we need a design which enhance the car shape: my 2nd work (like mitsu) make this skyline not a skyline and this is wrong: I'll try to work in this "enhanced typeR" dyrection ..

Can i give some positive critic to you then? i think your first design is awesome but i feel it is very Drift looking. Much like the other design is kind of Rally. i am not discrediting your designs, there all great but ive been basing mine on other cars in series. To be honest there quit simple liveries in World Challenge and i feel that you want a look that will get you noticed but not over done. Please take this positve, i just think that all race series have a certain look and i think your last design was the most fitting. i also think that all your designs were incredible and better then mine but in the US i think people might feel the design is trying to over shadow the performance. I dont now how to say what im trying to say exactly but i hope you understand. Please critic my designs. i think together we could come up with something great that will fit the series.

PS. i will PM you some pictures of a World Challenge car article i have from a US magazine tommorow so you can better understand what i mean but i think you understand by this post.

I like too much criticism: they allow me to take the right way or give me a "outside viewpoint", so I feel what you're still saying but I can't exactly understand the point becouse I'm ignorant concerning that series: I wait pics an meanwhile I search something: I've some new good ideas buy I want now to compare with real liveries. Thanks in advance:)

If I may jump in here with a totally abstract point of view ;)

I hear what you are saying about styles to a series - but why not "break the mold"? I say you guys should (with the owner's strategic consent, of course!) come up with something that IS different.

The point of a sponsored/owner livery is to get the sponsor/owner NOTICED - of course being first under the chequered flag is the best way, but having the coolest, mold breaking livery ain't bad just because you were second ;)

Please take this post in the way I meant it - it's just me sitting the easy passenger seat giving unasked for opinions  and doesn't to relate to any of the designs to date per se (except mayne technoman's ;) ). It's just a general observation and 2 cents on my part.

Wow I'm glad to see my idea has taken off with such a great start. I've tried a few designs but everytime I come up with one chad has already beaten me to it. LOL... I have to admit though I like you last design alot chad, it does give it a mean look and a face to it. SSO now I guess its back to the "ole drawing board" ok photoshop but you know what I meant.

No you have a point, and there are no actual rules really. Igor and his staff will pick out the design they like and put it on the car, all you have to do is make it apealing to their tastes/likes. I'm in the process of trying to come up with some sort of a tribal designthat uses all of the colors that are in the AF websites little logo up top.

Can we get a few more variations along these lines?

We will be issuing a press release within the next few days regarding our official entry for the Sebring race and wish to use a rendering as a teaser for the public. Please include #69 on the car instead of #23.

Thanks so much, this is incredible.

Once the design is finalized, it'll be a mad dash for the Modellers to see who can best recreate it in model form.

personally, the design by giovani is my favorite, it really brings out the bold straight faces of the nose and tail.
I also liked the idea of the black around the headlights in his earlier design, makes the car look threatening from the mirror.
I also liked freakmech's broken line design a lot, but it didn't look fast.

These are all amazing submissions

What if rather than having the base color white, you made it the blue color this website uses on its background, over where the avatars are. that way it would incorporate the color of the website in too. im picturing something kinda like the gulf paint scheme on the old gt40 when i think of this.

freakmech
02-03-2006, 05:20 PM
The real car was just painted White with a red interior, thats why we are using these colors.

what software are you guys using to do this anyway?

what about a single continuous stripe that goes across the hood and starts going down the sides, then take a sharp bend and goes along the side to the back, idk what to do with it when it would get back there though.

We are using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I think Giovani has Illustrator CS 2 so he has more power then i do.

hey man, not personal rights: we're doing that toghether, we mix up our ideas and now we start to have some fruit cup, wait only a bit: may be better until the end :grinyes: .Also could be quetly hard to do by decals on 1/24, however that is. I'll start mine after the presentation of the real Igor's beast.

Well, I'm happy, I never had that positive feedback on a buid-up:banghead: ah ah

WOW, how did you dream that up!!!! That is incredable!! Way to go gionc! the only thing i would suggest would be to fix the Automotive Forums font, it seems to small mabe if you boldfaced it. And what if you add the text "connecting the auto enthusiasts" in blue color similar to the color used in the B&M logo, in really small font tucked underneath the automotive forums text, almost like an underline with words, if that makes any sence

I never thought I would ever build a Skyline as they are not really my thing.

If someone is ever smart enough to make these as decals I would love to build it - your design suits the car and its fuction to the dot!!! :worshippy
