New springs and gas shocks should do it. Make sure the steering box is not sloppy, shake down the front end and replace anything worn. These cars were rough on lower ball joints, idler arms and centerlinks. If the car is not equipped with radial tires, get a set.

Just finsihed a 65 Impala SS conv. As Bobss396 suggested about steering suspension and tires, that's about what we did. All the bushings in front end and rear suspension were dry rotted. The gear boxes, idler arms and center links were notorious for developing looseness early their life also. Gas shocks and radials helped tremendously. Good luck with the project. BTW Kanter Bros has all the parts you will need to rebuild the under chassis.
