1988 honda civic sedan 1.5l throttle body. I have had a high idle issue for awhile now and then this morning I went to start it up and it just cranked and cranked. I have check and it has spark and fuel. It has for the last week or so seemed like it is getting to much fuel and every once in awhile when I start it it acts like it is flooded. I did change the injectors awhile ago and it didn't help. I checked the spark plugs and 3 of the 4 were wet with fuel, I tried to start it with some starting fluid and it still just cranked. Could the timing belt have slipped? the previous owner said the belt was changed so it should have about 30000 miles on it now I looked at it and it seems to be in pretty good shape. Any suggestions on where to start?

Are you sure it has spark? Check for continuity to the coil and ignitor in the distributor.

yea I double checked and it has spark. And the timing marks on the cam amd crank pulley are lined up. I took all the plugs out and tried to dry it out as best I could then put the plugs back in and tried to start it on either with the fuel pump turned off. It deffinetly wanted to start but my battery was getting low. Today I'm going to have the injectors cleaned Then I'm not sure which way to go from here.

check the distributor, you may have adjusted it to run too lean, which is tilted towards you if i remember right.
