SC Steering Column Cover

I just put a new stereo in my daughters 2000 SC. When trying to figure out how to get the old unit out, I loosend up the steering column cover because I thought I had to remove it. I ended up removing the dash piece without taking it off because I couldn't get it off anyway. I removed the only 5 screws that I saw. Anyway, everything is back together and working, but I can't get this cover back together.

I put the 2 screw into the deep holes, but I can't get the other 3 started. I can't get it apart far enough to see what is going on. What is the trick with these 3 screws?

in order to actually get that off you need to remove the instrument cluster bezel and knee protector. but why where you trying to remove that anyways?

there really is no trick to it if its placed back properly.

Yes, I realized too late that I didn't need to remove it. I wasn't sure what I had to remove, so I just started pulling stuff off. I finally got it on properly, I just had to get underneath to see how it fit together.
