Heater blower only works on high speed

The heater/AC blower motor on my 2002 Status will only work in the 2 highest speeds (3 & 4). The low speeds (1 & 2) act just like the off (zero) position. I'm thinking this is a problem with the dash control unit. Has anyone had any experience with this problem? Could it be something other than the dash control unit? Thanks

In my 2001 the low speed do very little. I brought it in and they told me it was normal. So I think they should do only very limited blowing on these speeds.

It is your blower relay switch. it is located behind your glove box. The part is about 25 bucks and easy to install. Hope this helps you .

The problem was not solved by replacing the dash contol unit. I will try to replace the blower relay switch as you suggested and see if that solves the problem.

More likely it's the Resistor Block.

I've got this problem as well, but it went from 2 settings to one to none, and with it being below zero up here it isn't fun. I've got the haynes manual and I can't find anything about the blower relay switch. Do you mean the
blower resistor? If not how do I get to the relay? Thanks

ive got me a 99 stratus 2.4l 4dr sedan and ive got this problem also and i am almost completely car illiterate. whats a resisor block.. all i know is that it sucks that i only have high!!! its noisy i'm cheap, i know nothing and i'm lazy whats the way to fix it in idiot terms and how much?

Replace your blower motor resistor. I've had this problem twice except with me the fan only worked on #4. Shouldn't cost you more than $25 and an hour to replace. It's located by the blower motor under you glove box compartment against the firewall.
