1999 Windstar SE - ABS & Traction Control

I have read through some of the Posts on the ABS & Traction, but most said that the detailed codes were needed to diagnose the problem. I do not have access to a code reader and was hoping someone on the forum could help.

The ABS Brakes and Traction control both work on the Windstar, however after a period of time, 5 - 45 minutes, both the ABS and Traction Control warning lights light up on the dash. If I stop and restart the vehicle, the lights go off and the both the ABS and Traction control work. Is there a sensor that needs to be cleaned?

Another issue is that from time to time(weeks/months), the speedometer and RPM meters go crazy, moving up and down all the way to the opposite side of the meters, but after some time they return to normal and they work like nothing is wrong. The mileage counters (LED) work just fine and never have a problem. Is this a sensor issue as well and is there any correlation?

Thanks in advance,

Sudhir

The meters jumping about may indicate that the PCM power relay contacts are getting a little worn.
