Parking lights flash when ignition turned off

98 Windstar/3.8l. Just bought this car, came with one key. When you start it, the parking lights flsh once. When you turn it off, the parking lights flash three times. What gives??? Any help? Thanks.

If I had to guess I would say the van has some type of alarm system. Do you have keyless entry or a remote for the locks?

I only got one standard key with it. Is there a way to check and see if there is an alarm or keyless entry system installed on the car? Thanks.

Hello

It does sound like a relay is stuck on regarding a remote door locks. This is just a guess. I don't believe this is normal behavior for a Windstar.
