In regard to my 1994 Mercury Sable, How do I remove the radiator bottom hose that has been leaking for a while? I've tried for a day now , first it does not move in any way ,second I have absolutely no room to work with. Any help will be appreciated.

Were you able to remove the clamps?

That's my problem, there is no way for me to get to the clamp that attaches the hose to the water pump. Any suggestions?

They are tuff, it helps if you can get a pair of channel-locks in there to twist them alittle back and forth, then slowly work it free with a screw driver/or pry bar - still using the channel-locks to move the hose back and forth. If you don't have a strong arm, take it to a shop. If you do, be careful taking the side off on the engine side because they normally bond with the rusted metal, and if you use to much torque you may break it off and have to replace the short metal pipe that attaches to the water pump! Mine broke off because it was so rusted and I ended up replacing that short metal pipe! Just another note, put alittle lube on the inside of the hose so when you get it on you can make sure you set the hose with no stress, (moving it back and forth) then tighten the clamps, if the hose is not set right it could cause pre-mature leaking and or it could leak from that small pipe that attaches to the water pump. If this makes since to you then your set, if it doesn't - you should check into it before you replace the hose. 10% of the time there easy - 90% of the time is not! Good luck!

Nothing a good pair of vice grips and a little elbow grease won't help. If the hose has bonded to the metal, simply cut the hose with a sharp razor blade and work it off that way. If vice grips won't work, try needlenose. It's really not that big of deal.
