no heat.....

yesterday i changed thermostat and flushed rad. put in new fluid. after letting the van warm it will blow warm, as soon as i start up the road it gets cold again. could it be the water pump? also, i hear air from some where around the top part of intake? what is (dpfe?)

I take it you have a Windstar with a 3.8. What year?

Why did you do the thermostat change and rad flush? General maintenance? Was your heater working before this? (I take it you replaced the thermostat because you didn't have any heat.) When you removed the old thermostat was there something wrong with it? Broken?

Does your heat gauage get at least 1/3 the way up?

How much fluid were you able to put into the system? Have you checked it after you ran it? (be sure not to open it hot......you'll get sprayed with hot antifreeze!)

If you could post back with the answers you know we can go from there.

Where did you get (dpfe)?

yes, 98 3.8, it work sometime.yep, 1/3 the way up. dpfe i got from anouther post on here thats seems to go along with anouther prob i am having..was only able to get a gallon or so back in. just went an looked, dont see any fluid. didnt see anything wrong with old one. hope this helps.... scott
