That is so real that it is unreal!
Many years ago I saw a an advert for Memorex audio castettes with Ela Fitzgerald(?). She hit a high note which shattered a wine glass. They recorded this on Memorex tape and then replayed it. Of course, the next glass shattered from the sound recording to demonstrate the quality of the tape and just how faithfully it recorded every frequency.
The slogan of the campaign was "Is it live, or is it Memorex?" You can guess why this build of yours reminds me of this advert! :)
I now ask myself "Is it real, or is it Scale-Master?" :worshippy

The kit doesn't supply a slave cylinder, and the kit's clutch master, while adequate for most builds was replaced like most of the other "mundane" parts on this project.
All machined aluminum except the machined left over cast resin reservoir, and machined soft plastic seal under it.
Seven pieces for the master, eight pieces for the slave.... - Mark

Well, some of the more intricate parts are only visible if I remove other parts, but I found this picture of my engine already in my album that has a few little parts I machined. I know they are nothing extravagant, but then again, I made them for function first. (Didn't stop me from putting pretty finishes on them though...)
The angle bracket that mounts the power steering pump to the head is one, just in front (to the left) of the cylinder #1 header tube. And the aluminum "shims" that align the late model alternator to this '70 small block.
Sorry, that's all I could find without taking apart the car... - Mark

About a dozen parts in each shock, forgot how many in the lower control arms. I did use the kit springs though, painted them with R/C car body paint so they won't crack when the springs are compressed.

To your statement about cars being giant models. In my opinion, models should be a small car. So detail them up just as you do Mark. But then again, a car could be a giant model since all the new cars are all plastic. So older cars would be...diecasts?

But I guess that anaolgy doesn't fit here. Die-casts are mass produced, my Camaro is certainly not a mass production car anymore, it's hand built like a good model. But not glued together like some of the more current cars... - Mark

So its one of those white metal model kits then? Put together with a precision sheilded by a precious metal body.

Made these so far...
The windshield frame is fabricated from sheet brass and soldered together, with brass tubing for the wiper fairings.
The wiper/arms are also brass with some machined aluminum details.
The rest are machined aluminum parts.
The Wink mirror has an anti-glare coating on the panels, I still have to finish the housing.
The side view mirrors have different faces, wide angle for the passenger side, standard for the driver's.
Still another dozen or two parts to make for this assembly, but at least I can start painting and decaling some of it now... - Mark
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e272/Superb7/DSC09964.jpg
Here's a couple shots of the basic beginnings of the windshield frame.

Can we get a closeup of all the parts please. Your work is absolutely fascinating to watch, thats for posting these pictures. Its an honor to peer inside a masters work.
Also, did you use silver solder for the brass? or regular rosin core?

Did you use 1:1 anti glare coating, or did you scale it down somehow? Nice touch with the different mirrors. That's one of those amazing details that really brings a model to life - not only do you have the skills to make such a complexly detailed model, but you have the thoughtfulness to build it as if it were something you planned on driving. That's what makes killer models, if you ask me. Outstanding.

Thanks again. Not sure why that one picture came out so small, I even reloaded it in my album to see if there was an anomaly there. I'll put up a better picture once I get more done on it, maybe even today... Plus I forgot to pose the "glass" when I took the shot. Had it in a safe place...
I just used rosin core solder.
The anti-glare coating was mixed with paint to match. (I have a Wink in my real car.)
Stay tuned... - Mark
