1998 windstar remote start

I'm installing a remote start system on a 1998 windstar. I am having difficulty because the installation manual explains what to do if you have 1 or 2 12v constant wires going into the column, but these vans have three. Anyone run into this before and find the solution?

You could save yourself a lot of grief and headaches just drop it in the trash can.
If you do not have a real quality one good one made for your car and get a good proper installation on it.
Yhey will give you a lot of grief and headaches and sleepless nights.

I installed one of these on a 93 Taurus a few years ago. I believe I just picked two and didn't use the third. What you need is constant power. From my recolection, I believe they wated to use two different power sources.

I do think the units that "just" plug in are easier, but cost a lot more. If the directions are followed, they work well.

I got it all installed. I just left the third 12v connstant alone. It was kind of a pain to install but my wife appreciates it considering the Cleveland weather is pretty cold this time of year. This is the third one I've put in and it was easier than the other two. Actually, I put one in my 94 dodge shadow w/ a 5 spd manual. I fabricated contact switches on each side of the shifter that grounded out the remote start system when the car was in gear and disabled the clutch switch. It worked really great although it was kind of a pain to make all the parts that were necessary to make it work safely in a standard shift car.
