Has anyone had in luck in clearing up 171/174 codes on the 96 3.8L by changing out the isolator bolts. I have looked and see that it was a problem in 99 and later but is it also a problem on 96's? I have done just about everything to do but this repair and it still sets the codes.

From my understanding by replies I've received and reading the posts on this subject, those codes are set by a lean condition caused by vacuum leaks in the intake. Aside from the isolator bolts, there are also 6 individual intake runner gaskets and the large gasket between the intake halves. If you have replaced these when you replaced the isolator bolts, I would start checking all your vacuum lines/connections for another leak source. Hopefully some others wil replie with other ideas as well.
