FINALLY!!!! SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!
Even SOME of the Mustang guys in the Mustang forum don't respect the Fox body. Thank You!!
If I were you, I would paint that intercooler black (I don't know if you're supposed to) or buy a black one so nobody can see it. It would just be more of a surprise.
How fast are you runnin? A Ford SVT dealer nearby made that injector setup but, they use WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID. For s/c, turbos, nos. It adds 90hp for about $150! When I first heard about it I thought wow I could put that on my 97 Taurus with 3.0 DOHC 200hp stock.
COULD YOU IMAGINE A 290HP TAURUS??!!! TALK ABOUT A SLEEPER!!
I owned a 91 GT...I know how fast they can go for a little green.
I plan on putting a "screen" over the cut out/foglight areas...but if I don't, I'll get paint that matches close to the body and paint it.
The turbo system went on back in October and I drove the car from Vegas ~> OKC...only have 200 miles on the car other then that this year because I've been travel'n so much for work. I don't even know yet. 2 other guys who have the same turbo system as I do that have T67s (mines a t70) are putting down 600+rwhp on 14# of boost on stock engines. come the end of Jan, I will have a fully forged engine started with the rest of the fuel system taken care of(dual intank 225lph/regulartor/feed-return lines/rails). I'll let you know when I find out on the power, but looking around 600rwhp on 10# and on 15 about 720rwhp. I also have the Linginfelter(sp?) TT cam and 918 springs and getting my heads ported/polished stage2 when the engine is built.
Windshield washer fluid is a cheap way of "methane injection". I don't know how much I would trust it, but if you need it in an 'emergency' I guess it would work. for 150.00, just make sure they're not giving your a tornado. but a turbo system is going to cost a lot more then 150 no matter what...just get a 20hp sneak pete nitrous setup.

haha ive heard of water injection, and so i figured it was to cool it down, but why do you need it? i heard most people use water injection because they have a really high compression ratio..or because they're boosting it alot..but i cant find a turbo/super/ram(as if itll do much) on your tag..unless its one of those weird un-intelligible-for-me letter/numbers :] so i was just wondering if you were running an alcohol engine to get more power..since some of the stuff in your tag i understand.. :D
You answered your own questions
High compression (10.1:1) and lots of boost (10# min and who knows max)
Right now its a stock LS1 with Lingenfelter(sp?) Turbo cam, 918 springs, pacesetter headers with a rear mount turbo using FMIC and an alky/water injection kit. It runs on 91-94 octane(tuned on 91) and uses alky/water for boost above 7#(I turned it down to 5# coming from Vegas ~> OKC)

Thanks. Its fun, I'll sure say that. Because as much fun as it is to go fast in a straight line, its even more fun to go full into a turn and go around "higher end sports cars" (I have a lot of suspension/brake mods done obviously by my sig). Its all good and a lot of fun to drive.
My friend Jon who put the turbo system on said of all the cars he has ever drove, mine is in the top 3 of the most fun...not the fastest but fun. (he owns/has owned many many 11/10/9 second cars in Vegas)

You'd be amazed on how well subframes/lower control arms/strut tower/panhard rod bar make a difference. I don't know if your frame on your 4th gen is "rusted"...might just be a little spot/surface stuff which just take some sand paper and get rid of it...then add a little paint in that area. problem solved. :)

Hi guys,
This is not an advertisement but a request from you what you want to see in a new shop. We are planning to build the best shop you've ever seen in sacramento and we were wondering what you would like to be able to put your hands on quickly and what services you would like to have more of or have that are not in the sacramento area. We are not supposed to advertise that is why I do not want to give out the shop name here but your input would be appreciated so that we can serve the speed demonds in sacramento better. We will advertise in the paper and many other places for our grand opening. One thing I have already have many requests for was affordable access to quick dyno testing, so we are getting a dino and will be offering quick inexpensive "marker" dino tests so the average tinkerer can afford to know what gains his mods are giving him. Thanks in advance and drive safely.

hey darkblueTA.
l would like to ask u a question.. how many horsepower added to your girl that intercooler? do u have any idea?
Can't tell you power number because it was all put on at the same time, but I can tell you that the temps would be around 170*plus with out an intercooler on one of the other cars Jon did w/o an intercooler before hand. That's on a 90* day. Now with just the intercooler its around 105* at most on a 90* day. With the alky-water injection, drop into the 68* range(+/-2*)

I am way to busy right now to drop the engine out of my car, send everything to a machine shop, re-assemble the engine and shoving it back into my car. That's what I get for being on the road most of the year this year. :lol2:

I plan on putting a "screen" over the cut out/foglight areas...but if I don't, I'll get paint that matches close to the body and paint it.

I can't use that anyway, no turbo,s/c,nos. But when I first heard about it, I thought you could just add it to any car and add 90hp. COULD YOU IMAGINE...A TAURUS BEATING STANGS, TA, Z28'S WITH ALOMOST 300HP! And no again, it's not a tornado or a turbo that they sell for $150, it's just the tank and whatever else is needed for the methane injection system. CAN YOU TELL I HAVEN'T HAD A MUSTANG IN 5 YEARS?!! I'M GOING CRAZY, I'M THINKING OF HOTRODDING MY DAMN TAURUS!!! CAN'T WAIT TILL WE SELL OUR HOUSE, THEN I'LL GET ANOTHER 5.0 TO PLAY WITH!!

I take that back. I sold my last 5.0 in 2000 and bought my cousins 65 Mustang fastback 289 in 03 (fun/cool BUT NO 5.0). Then sold it in 04, too much work to drive than fun. No powersteering, brakes,A/C, and of course not as safe as newer cars (fire if hit in the backend). I thought about restomoding it, but after adding it all up $$$$. I thought hell, I'd be better off getting a 5.0 again.
I FIND MYSELF POSTING IN HERE AND THE CAMARO FORUM MORE LATELY THAN THE MUSTANG FORUM. I GUESS THAT MEANS YOU GUYS ARE MY NEW GIRLFRIENDS....WAIT...WHAT THE....SEE. I TOLD YOU I'M GOING CRAZY W/OUT A 5.0!!

I do love the look of the 99-04 Stang and the brakes/suspension but, they have less room underhood and ofcourse the 4.6. I love the 5.0 because you can find parts anywhere, have more room to work on them, and parts are alot cheaper. Also, you can make a 5.0 alot faster for alot less money than the 4.6.
HOLY CRAP....I STILL HAVE ATLEAST ONE BRAINCELL LEFT!!!
I COULD BUY A 99-04 STANG AND THROW A 5.0 IN IT!!
OFCOURSE I WOULD BUY A CHEAP ONE THAT HAD ALOT OF MILES ON IT OR BLOWN ENGINE, I COULDN'T SEE JUST PULLING THE 4.6 FOR NOTHING, I DON'T HATE THE 4.6 THAT MUCH!!
THEN I COULD HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!

there are a lot more parts out there for 5.0's but i wouldn't go to the trouble of putting one in a new fox body. i like the older(80's style) bodies better myself. i say geta 89 GT and just go to town with it. i'm a fan of older cars witch is why i bought my formula and i'm building a 400 SB.

I like the Fox body better than the SN95 also and it's better for drag racing with it's lighter weight but, the 94-04's have better brakes/suspension, stiffer chasis and the 99-04's just look mean. They kind of look like a 69-70 fastback, the hoodscoop looks like the one on the 429 BOSS.
I will more than likely get another 87-93 5.0, but like I said, if I can find a 99-04 with a bad engine or high miles, or really cheap, then, I would pull the 4.6 and install a 5.0. But I doubt I'll be able to find one cheap enough to make it worth while. I would prefer to just get a Fox but, it would be nice to have...in my opinion the best of both world's.

you know there was a period where the nwer body style 94-98 had the 5.0 in it. i can't remember the yrs but i know the gt's had a 5.0 for a little while and i think the cobra did too. that could be your solution right there. newer body older engine.

Yeah, it was the 94&95. But I like the 99-04 better because of the "Edge" styling. I think they look meaner. And yes, I would still have the brakes and suspension and newer look but, I just love that sharp edge look on the 99-04's. I'll probably just end up getting a Fox cause I love them to, and they're cheaper.

oh snap i have a thought for you. buy a base model 99-04 with a blown engine and swap in the 5.0 then if you want do the saleen body conversion or a cobra conversion. or even keep it stock.
