Yesterday, the OBD fault light came on on my dashboard. When I took the car (3.0L, 6 cycl) to our local parts supply house today, they read the code and told me that it is P1401 and that I will have to take the car to the dealer to have the problem resolved. What does this code mean? Is this something I can take care of myself? Are the trouble codes for this car listed here on this site anywhere? Thanks!

Thanks, Reekor. I'll give that a try.
I forgot to ask: Will replacing the sensor also clear the error light or will I still have to take it somewhere to get that reset? Thanks again!

If i'm not mistaken the sable has to be cleared after the problem is repaired. To make sure give it a few miles and if it's still on goto the place that pulled the code for you, they can also clear it.

You were right on the money. It was the DPFE sensor. Got it installed, local parts store cleared the code........ good to go! Thanks again!

Take the car to the dealer...there's an extended warranty on the DPFE sensor (SSP 59). Believe the extended period is 5 yrs or 74 K miles.
