that sucks

i see people having problems like this all of the time:

I have owned a Subaru now for about a year and it has been a fucking nightmare.
There were very few of these shipped to canada and Subaru Canada no longer supports or stocks parts for this model, so getting work done is a joke.
About 2 months after I bought it the transmission busted in half one day for really no reason (not driving it too hard or being a retard), so I use the warranty that came with my car through a private dealer. 6 Months later and $3000 on my end (a $5500 total job and the warranty only covered a portion of it) I get my car back. Apparently at some point before I bought it someone put an old Forrester transmission in it and the gear ratios were wrong and over time it just tore itself to pieces. When I bought this car it had 0 problems with it, now the main 4 vents dont work for heat or AC, only the vents by my legs and the defroster vents work, I have a rare tail light burnt out and the BIGGEST problem of all is that I have a chip in the windshield that cracked a portion of it and cannot be repaired. Those fuckers want $1800 for a new windshield, which is insane.

Moral of the story is buy a semi-common car or pay the price.
Its a good thing the dealership is willing to give me more than I paid on it for a trade in, so I will about break even after the transmission. I am gonna roll into an Infinity M45 at the beginning of december.
Hopefully something else doesnt go drastically wrong before then to screw up my trade in.

Anyways,
Just venting

Well it's brand new, no problems yet, the wrx was a consideration in my choosings, but i wanted to try a whole different line of cars, i get a awesome deal on it. It's smaller, great gas milage, like 34mpg, all wheel drive, this thing is fricking awesome in the snow. I pull up to a corner thats all slushy and crappy, as i sit there thinking i'm not gonna go anywhere, i press the gas and it goes like it was on dry pavement. I also have a 5 yr/60k warranty on it. Then I'm going to get an aftermarket warranty when i get 60k, or by that time I might be ready for something else.

Get a subaru...lol

Good for you man.... I finally got rid of my Impala too ... No more ISS problems, No more window regulator problems... etc, etc.... Got myself a 04 Dakota... First V-8 I've had in many years! Can't wait to go four wheelin' in it.... The implala wasn't much for roughing it either....lol Good luck with your new Subaru... my dad has one that has about 200k on it.. pretty good cars

When I was at the dealership decideing on which subaru i wanted, this 2002 wrx that was beening used by a currier came in for an oil change. They showed me the mileage on it, 364,000 miles on the original motor and tranny, I have never seen a car with 364,000 miles on it.

I know there isn't really a comparison between the impala and the impreza. But to me, i'm out of a headache that lasted 4 years! I have been stranded in the middle of no where, no cell phone service either, thank god onstar still worked. I have no regrets getting rid of it, and it felt like a thousand pounds lifted off my shoulders. I now have a brand new car with a very good review and longivity, my impala didn't have a hundred thousand miles on it when i got rid of it. I have been through stop lights because of failing master cylinders, extreme costly repairs, and i was starting to see a pattern in repairs. Brakes were a nightmare, all the shaking that i could never get rid of, and no it wasn't in an accident. I could go on and on about all the problems that i have had. Chevy did not once do a damn thing to help me with repairs. I have been lied to when i told my converter was fine when it wasn't. Then at 80,410 miles, all of a sudden the cat was plugged, and imagine that, they wouldn't cover it. I was so fricking pissed!!!! Parts failing multiple times. I just don't miss it. I'm happy it's gone!!!!

It seems that you were realy pissed off by the Impala, Mike. For me I was happy with the previous two used chevy cars, one 1986 Celebrity, one 1992 Lumina 3.1. I hope that my good luck with Chevy wont ended by this 2001 impala 9C3. James

Yeah i know i'm preaching to the choir, but at the same time making a point at least to me. I'm glad to be back in something i can depend on and I know it will take me on a nice long trip and i don't have that worrying in the back of my head that at any moment something could go wrong. I live in colorado and subarus are the most popular cars out here because they are all wheel drive.

saw one or two new subarus on road. are all its new models having a kind of vent right on top of the hood? Just can't be used to the styling of this part.

Are you talking about a vent, or a hood scoop, the hood scoop is for the turbo charges on the wrx
