Passenger side sliding door and cruise control

I'm new here but I have three questions I'm hoping someone can help with. First is that my passenger side sliding door seem to be making a noise like it is rattling but cannot locate any loose parts which would cause this. If I grab hold of the handle on the outside, I am able to lift the door up approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Is this normal or is this my problem?

Second question is that my cruise control is working at random. I have checked the fuses but all are fine. Any ideas?

Last question is about the braking system. Back in June of this year I had the axle shaft, wheel bearing and spindle replaced on the passenger side front and every since that day (I mean from the frist time I applied my brakes after leaving the garage) it feels like they are grabbing or that the ABS is coming on every time. We have taken off the wheel and apart the brakes and there is some play, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, with the router. I can "push" thru this grabbing and the brakes feel normal again but this this is happening consistently. The ABS light comes on and just recently the parking light as well. Any ideas on what is causing this?

For your door noise, try looking at the sliding bracket (the one at about waist height) at the seam between the door and the back body panel. On my Windstar I could wiggle it. When I packed some foam around it, the rattle stopped. Right now I packed the area behind it with some foam. It is only a temporary fix until I figure out a better one.

For your cruise control problem, mine was intermittent. I ended up taking the switch out (on a 99 you can carefully pry it out), then taking it apart and cleaning it. Mine was full of dust and dirt. Putting it back in is harder, since you will need to either make or buy a small wiring harness.

Good luck.
