3400 CAI & WAI

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and get a gauge of interest. Due to the lack of products in the aftermarket for the Impala 3400 engines. I've decided to take on the task of designing a building 2 different air intake systems. The first is Warm Air Intake (WAI) the second system is a Cold Air Intake (CAI). I'm currently in the design phase for both systems. The WAI is going to proto-type construction shortly, and the CAI to follow soon after. As each unit goes to proto-type I will furnish pictures and dyno results. My hope is to provide a quality product that will improve performance and be available a resonable price. If you are interested please let me know. I'm also looking into development of a CAI for 2006 3.9L & 5.3L engines.

im sorry, I completely forgot about there FWI. and I know it comes across as negativity sometimes, but most of the guys there are just straight forward. keep up the work, I know you wont let a few people deter you from this project. but keep more idea coming if you have them.
again, I am sorry, but I forgot about their FWI.

This is the fist prototype CAI for NAIOA on my car 3800. We did one for a 3400 also just a shorter air duct pipe.

I've ordered most of the materials. The first one should be done in couple of weeks. I'm finalizing the routing this weekend. I've seen one setup that goes through the radiator support and behind the head light. But the clearance is a little to tight for my liking. I'm also looking into ducting the vent in the front bumper over to the filter. believe it or not the PCM reloction braket will probably be the toughest part to fabricate.

With your test, will the WAI be done first or the CAI?

I've got a cAi on my 01 impala 3400. Runs fast when it's cold, hense the term CAI, I've also installed a HI-PO CAT that has helped a bunch. I need to sheild the filter from the engine so it doesn't heat up so much.
