My 95 windstar seemed to lose oil pressure and the oil light came on. It lost power but made it home ok. Changed oil and filter and took it for a test drive and after 1 mile had same problem. what else besides the oil pump should I check?

How many miles on your 95? I posted about rod bearings on this Windstar forum. Do a search. Do you hear a tap, tap, tap until the oil psi is built up? Your rod and main bearings may be worn to the point that the oil psi can't be held in the bearings and is leaking out inside the engine. In my post I replaced my rod bearings because I heard the tap before oil psi built up. I had around 177,000 miles on mine.
Have you been using oil? It may be too late for this engine...??
Regards
Dan

I do believe that there had been a tap tap tap on start up, It would go away quickly. It did use a little oil. It has a little over 150,000 miles on it. It was a strong engine I hope its not too late.
Thanks

It does sound like either (like you said the oil pump) or the bearings are gone.
One really will not know until it's taken apart.
I hope someone else has some better news for you
