Trunk latch stuck - HELP PLEASE

My trunk latch sticks sometimes, and it's getting worse. I've tried spraying some silicone lubricant up there with no success. Is there another way to grease it? Or another suggestion?

I'd say just put some WD40 on it. But when you do work it in, it should loosen things up. Don't just spray and be done take about 10 - 20 mins working it in and getting the rust outta there.
