Front subframe mound captive nut access??

I have a failed subframe mount on the driver side, front mount of my 1995 Sable. THe subframe is hanging an inch or so low to that side and a massive clunk is apparent when I accelerate from a stop. I was removing the bolt that goes thru the mount, subframe and into the body rail above. I got a few turns successfully, then the captive nut in the hollow body rail started to spin, now I can't remove the bolt! What is the method to access the nut so as to put a wrench on it? This is the area below the battery, which I will be exploring soon!!! Any tips?

Actually, this is not a tip (sorry), i'm just a semi-car-illiterate girl who had a similar problem on the passenger side of my 94. While getting new tires at Just Tires, i somehow schmoosed the mechanic into fixing that same massive clunk for free. Appently, the subframe weld cracked and he rewelded it. But the weld must have failed (or it was a crap job to begin with) because the clunk came back. Since you apparently know what you're dealing with, could you suggest a more permanent solution????

As the previous message stated, you'll have to have the nut welded in place. Or, if you have access to the area, just remove the factory nut and install your own.
