to the how-to on hardwiring the valetine 1 radar detector in the impala. He ran the cord down the windshield. Thanks

its not hard really, or at least it shouldnt be. what kind of end does it have, pictures would help if you could get some. but all I did was cut ciger plug off mine and one is a ground and one is a power, and I ran mine to the igntion wire and ground wire in the accessory drop by the passengers side feet behind the kick gaurd. but what I think you asking for is this

ya, but then I won't have regular use of the cigarrette lighter. I found the link, though:

thats a lot of wiring, and I still have all the use of my cigarette lighter. I meant cut the end off the radar wire. where most radars have a plug that goes into the radar then the other end goes into the cigarette lighter, the cord has two wires, a power and a ground. I cut off the plug that goes into the digarette lighter outlet, and those two wires in the cord for the radar, I wired to a ignition and a ground, so when the car is on the radar is on. I can take some pictures tomorrow if you want to show you what I did, its really easy, and it will not use your cigarette lighter outlet at all.

interesting..The only thing is my valentine 1 uses a phone line for the power cord, I don't think it will be so easy to ground it. Maybe I'm wrong though, I'll have to check it out
