I have a 96 Ford Windstar 3.8L with 159,000 miles on it. When I start it up cold, there is no problems, but after it has warmed up and driven for a while, then I stop, the van has a hard time starting again. It seems to diesel, sputter, and then after pumping the peddle, it will run. It runs fine after starting except that the idle seem low. Does anyone have any idea what to do???

Any check engine light? Even if the check engine light isn't on there still could be stored codes.
My first guess is a coolant sensor not working and it's not telling the computer that the engine is hot.

There is no check engine light on. Is there a way to test the coolant sensor? Where is it located?
Thanks
Paul
